Installation

Follow the general installation guide located here before continuing

By default some settings are disabled, to achieve the looks of the demo blog setup these options:

  • Go to your Tumblelog Settings located at http://tumblr.com/settings/blog/your-blog-name and enable Ask, Submit and Twitter options
  • Upload your custom Header Image and Avatar 186×186
  • Set Enable Social Feed and Enable Social Buttons to ON and add your info in the options Social Feed Tumblr Blog URL, etc. and Social Button Facebook, etc.

Appearance Options

Character features global options that are going to effect your blog and profile appearance at the same time. These options are located at the top of the Customization page:

  • Title – set the title of your blog (blog title is resized depending on screen size)
  • Description – add a description or about me text
  • Avatar - set the avatar for your blog (this option will only affect your avatar on the Tumblr platform and the favicon of your blog. To change the avatar shown in the sidebar check the Avatar 186×186 option)

Theme Options

  • Header Image – select your header and footer image – default http://static.tumblr.com/4ryjdsi/sWAngo7fd/crissxcross.jpg. Background image is repeated, for best results use image with width of 1920 pixels, height of 800 pixels and size less than 1 Mbit or subtle patterns.
  • Background Image – select the background image for your blog – default none. Background image is repeated, for best results use subtle patterns.
  • Accent Color – select the color used mostly for links – default #45966E
  • Background Color – select the background color of your blog – default #45966E
  • Title Color – select the color of your blog Title – default #FFFFFF
  • Primary Text Color – select primary text color used mostly in posts and sidebar blocks – default #111111
  • Secondary Text Color – select secondary text color used mostly in navbars and post footers – default #FFFFFF
  • Link Hover Color – select the color for links when you put your mouse over them – default #45966E
  • Boxes Background Color - select the background color of posts, sidebar blocks and post notes – default #FFFFFF
  • Title Font – select a font for your blog Title and sidebar titles (Your Name, Social Feed Title, etc.) – default Streetscript
  • Heading Font – select a font for all headings on your blog (h1, h2, h3, etc.) – default Open Sans
  • Text Font – select a font for general text on your blog – default Open Sans
  • Quote Font – select a font for quote posts – default Georgia
  • Sidebar Position – choose between sidebar on the Left or on the Right of the content – default Right
  • Enable Navbar Home Button – choose whether to add Home button to your navigation bar – default ON
  • Enable Navbar Random Button - choose whether to add Random button to your navigation bar – default ON
  • Enable Social Feed – choose whether the social feeds will be visible – default OFF
  • Enable Social Buttons – choose whether the social buttons will be visible – default OFF
  • Enable Infinite Scroll – this option will load the next page of posts when the user reaches the bottom of the current page – default ON
  • Enable Infinite Scroll Custom Trigger – this option will stop auto loading and will add Load More button to load next page of posts (requires Enable Infinite Scroll to be ON) – default ON
  • Your Name – enter your name or text that will show up under the sidebar avatar e.g. Hello Friends (keep it short, long titles might break the layout)
  • Social Feed Title - enter the title of your Social Feed block e.g. Social Feed (keep it short, long titles might break the layout)
  • Social Feed Tumblr Blog URL – enter the full URL of your Tumblr blog – e.g. http://example.tumblr.com or http://example.com
  • Social Feed WeHeartIt Username – enter your WeHeartIt username e.g. example
  • Social Feed Pinterest Username – enter your Pinterest username e.g. example
  • Social Feed Flickr User ID - enter your Flickr ID e.g. 00000000@N00 - find your ID with this tool
  • Social Feed DeviantArt Username – enter your DeviantArt username e.g. example
  • Social Feed Dribbble Username – enter your Dribbble username e.g. example
  • Social Feed Behance Username - enter your Behance username e.g. example
  • Social Links Title – enter the title of your Social Buttons block e.g. Find me on: (keep it short, long titles might break the layout)
  • Social Button Facebook – enter your Facebook username or page name e.g. example
  • Social Button Twitter – enter your Twitter username e.g. example
  • Social Button WeHeartIt – enter your WeHeartIt username e.g. example
  • Social Button Pinterest – enter your Pinterest username e.g. example
  • Social Button Tumblr Full URL - enter the full URL of your Tumblr blog – e.g. http://example.tumblr.com or http://example.com
  • Social Button DeviantArt – enter your DeviantArt username – e.g. example
  • Social Button Flickr – enter your Flickr username – e.g. example
  • Social Button Dribbble – enter your Dribbble username – e.g. example
  • Social Button Behance - enter your Behance username – e.g. example
  • Social Button Website - enter the full URL of your website e.g. http://example.com
  • Social Button eMail – enter your email address e.g. me@example.com
  • Twitter Title – the title of your Twitter box e.g. Lastest tweets (keep it short, long titles might break the layout)
  • Number Of Tweets – set the number of tweets to be shown on your blog e.g. 5
  • Google Analytics ID – enter your Google Analytics ID e.g. UA-00000000-0, to find out more check How to setup Google Analytics?
  • Disqus Username - enter your Disqus username e.g. example, to find out more check How to setup Disqus comments?

Other Options

  • Ask me anything – If you enable the Ask from your Tumblelog settings a link to the ask page will be automatically added to the navigation bar. You can change its title and settings from there as well.
  • Submissions – If you enable Submissions from your Tumblelog settings a link to the submit page will be automatically added to the navigation bar. You can change its title and settings from there as well.
  • Custom pages – if you create a custom page and enable the option Show a link to this page from withing the page editor it will be displayed in the navigation bar under the Pages dropdown menu.
  • Advanced options – besides all other options it is mandatory to disable the Use default mobile theme option or a generic theme will be rendered on mobile devices instead of Rankster.
